Working with forms
Read records and use the operations available to you.
Step by step
- Open a section. Daily work shows actions for the list or selected record; a long action list becomes an Action selector grouped into Browse and Changes. Administration includes a searchable full list of your available operations.
- For reads, supply the required filters or record identifier. Open a table row for its details when that action is available.
- Use Next page and Previous page to move through the pages you have loaded. Applying filters starts page navigation again. A current-page search does not search the whole organization.
- Check the network, asset and units. Fields marked atomic use whole smallest units; copy identifiers and versions exactly.
- Large result tables scroll vertically and horizontally. Focus the table area with Tab and use the arrow keys or Page Down. Scrolling does not load the next API page.
- Open a table record to view its details. Available contextual actions retain its exact identifiers. Back to list or Clear selection removes the selected record. Opening a new-record form does not copy the previously selected record into it.
- For optional lists, the inclusion checkbox distinguishes an omitted field from an explicitly empty list. API-client restriction changes replace all restrictions: omission resets that restriction to unrestricted, while an empty list denies all. Preserve each desired current restriction explicitly.
- An optional Yes/No field can be left not supplied. Clearing an editable description sends an empty string; check the operation review before confirming.
- Filters and exact cursors stay unchanged while paging. CSV downloads contain only the returned page. Expand Filters and selection to change a read request; an automatically selected record loads without needing to enter its identifier again.
- In lists with more than five records, Search this page searches only the returned page. Clear the search or continue to another page for other records. Export includes the entire returned page. Table dates use UTC; the exact original value remains in details and export.
